Babworth Crematorium to offer state-of-the-art funerals

Babworth Crematorium is to become a funeral ‘SuperVenue’, enabling bereaved families to experience immeasurable personalisation to their loved one’s service.

The chapel is soon to be renovated and fitted with state-of-the-art technology which will enable funeral services to be more uniquely personal than ever before.

The chapel will close from Saturday 18 July for the transformation to take place and services will resume from Tuesday 4 August, with the SuperVenue options available.

Babworth Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, and which is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All Westerleigh's locations are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefiting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

Babworth is one of a growing number of Westerleigh crematoria to become a SuperVenue.

Post renovation,  mourners can be greeted by their loved one’s name and a cherished photo displayed on the external welcome screen, setting the tone for the service.

Inside the chapel, a beautifully curated theme will be projected onto the entire front wall – canvas – accompanied by harmoniously coordinated soundscapes and lighting.

There will be a range of canvas themes for bereaved families to choose from to reflect the life of the person being remembered.

Babworth Crematorium Manager Ben Schofield said: “We are proud to be introducing the opportunity to personalise funerals to unprecedented levels to our bereaved communities.

“The feedback received from our SuperVenues already operating in other parts of the country has been extremely positive, and I look forward to supporting the bereaved near and further afield to have the chance to create the most memorable tributes to their loved ones here at Babworth.

“Whether it’s a landscape theme or a seasonal background, or even a football stadium, there is a wide range of choices available, with many options to tailor the displays to be specifically relevant to the person being honoured.

“Anyone interested in finding out about Babworth Crematorium as a SuperVenue is invited to attend our open day on Saturday 30 May between 10am and 2pm when we will be sharing more information about this innovation and how it will support bereaved families in making their loved one’s service more uniquely personal than ever before.”
