Babworth Crematorium re-opens as a funeral SuperVenue

Babworth Crematorium has re-opened as a funeral ‘SuperVenue’, offering bereaved families the chance to personalise their loved one’s service to unprecedented levels.

The crematorium temporarily closed last month for a period of two weeks during which its chapel was renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enables funerals to be more uniquely personal than ever before.

Mourners attending a service there can now be greeted by their loved one’s name and cherished photo displayed on an external welcome screen, setting the tone for the service ahead.

Inside the chapel, a beautifully-curated theme will be projected onto the entire front wall – canvas – accompanied by harmoniously co-ordinated lighting and synchronised soundscapes.

There is a range of canvas themes for bereaved families to choose from to reflect the life of the person being remembered.

“The feedback received from Westerleigh Group’s SuperVenues already operating in other parts of the country has been extremely positive, and I look forward to supporting the bereaved near and further afield to have the chance to create the most memorable tributes to their loved ones. 

“Whether it’s a waterfall or a seasonal background, or even a football stadium, there is a wide range of canvas themes and choices available, with many options to tailor the displays to be specifically relevant to the individual being honoured.

“We’ll be hosting an open day on Saturday 19 September, between 10am and 2pm, to show our local community what we’ve created here in Babworth and how it will make every loved one’s service as uniquely personal as the life they lived.”
